How many sessions would I need?
The counselling I offer is open-ended so our work together would be as short or long-term as you feel is necessary and we would talk about this when we first meet. Each session is 50 minutes long.
How much does each session cost?
Each session costs £50 and I ask for payment by cash or cheque on the day at the start of the session. I also offer some reduced cost sessions for clients who are on a low income or unemployed. Internet banking is possible for regular clients.
I am recognised and accredited by private medical insurers Bupa, AXA PPP, Aviva and VitalityHealth and I am happy to provide invoices if required.
I am also affiliated with Health Assured Employment Assistance Programme (EAP).
What if I can't get to my session?
If you need to cancel your session, I ask for a minimum of 24 hours’ notice or a charge for the full fee will be incurred. Sessions can be rescheduled by phone or email, and I would be happy to use Skype if it is not possible to reschedule during the same week.
If you feel that you would like come and see me, then the first step would be for us to arrange a convenient time to speak on the phone so that I can introduce myself to you and give you an opportunity to ask any questions. After that, we would then look to find a convenient time to meet here at my confidential counselling room in Thames Ditton.
With your permission, I retain your name, address, telephone number, email, date of birth, GP name and some basic information about your family background. This personal information is stored securely in a locked box and will not be shared with anyone else without your consent.
I make brief hand-written notes of counselling sessions for supervision purposes and they are kept under a non-identifiable client code. The notes are stored in a separate location to any personal information and are kept for 6 years (as per my insurance requirements), after which they are securely destroyed.
